Mabel Nana Nyarkoa Porbley has 16 years’ experience in the insurance industry. In 2018, she joined Saham Insurance Ghana as its CEO/MD and led the company through its restructuring and rebranding to Sanlam General Insurance Ghana in 2022. Since then, the company has grown into a profitable leader in the market under her leadership. Until January 2024, Mabel was the 2nd VP of the Ghana Insurers Association, leading the Motor insurance tariff review for the industry in 2023 as the Chair of the Non-Life Council of the insurance industry. She was also the Vice Chair of the Ghana National Bureau of the Ecowas Brown Card until December 2023. She currently sits on the board of the Ghana Insurance College and is also a Council member of the West Africa Institute of Insurance in the Gambia. In 2023, Mabel was nominated by the Insurance Commission to be part of the 5-member Committee formed by the Ghana Government and International Monetary Fund (IMF) to engage the financial services sector and bring to bear the impact of the Domestic Debt Exchange Program (DDEP) on the insurance industry.

Mabel holds a BA (Hon) from the University of Cape Coast and an Executive Master’s degree from GIMPA. She is a management professional and chartered insurer, and a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom (CII-UK).
