SanlamAllianz General Insurance Ghana wrapped up an eventful 2024 with a landmark event aimed at reshaping its sales strategies and bolstering leadership confidence among its team.
SanlamAllianz General Insurance Ghana crowned the 2024 calendar year with its maiden edition of the Leadership In Sales Conference, which took place from Monday, December 2nd to Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, at the Rock City Hotel situated on the picturesque mountain side of the Kwahu Mountains, in Ghana’s Eastern Region.
The Conference, themed ‘Leadership in Confidence’, sought to bring together management, sales managers and agents across the country, to review the performance of the business thus far, and augment sales action plans and strategies for the 2025 business year.
Introduction and Briefing
In her opening remarks, MD/CEO Mabel Nana Nyarkoa Porbley, welcomed all participants to the conference, stating the essence and importance of the conference towards achieving and surpassing sales targets in the upcoming year. Mabel underscored the strategic importance of aligning every customer interaction with SanlamAllianz's mission, vision, and core values. She emphasized that demonstrating these principles consistently across all touchpoints is key to building trust and achieving sustained growth.
She shared nuggets of wisdom on the need to lead with confidence especially as sales managers and team leads, stating that, “Everybody in this room has the ability to be decisive on things that will make them move faster”.
Mabel also shared some highlights of the business’ performance during the year and delved into the business’ strategy, objectives and outlook for 2025 and beyond. This was followed by various unit and departmental presentations moderated by William Noi Mensah; Executive - Strategy, Analytics, Marketing Communications and Brand.
Brainstorming Workshop
The Motor and Mass Market, and Corporate Commercial Business Line teams broke out into brainstorming sessions to fine tune their respective sales action plans and strategies for the upcoming year. Led by their respective executives, they discussed plans and strategies to meet and exceed sales targets for 2025. The teams also explored how to integrate SanlamAllianz’s purpose and values into their sales approaches, ensuring that every client interaction reflects the company’s commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Agents’ Workshop
Sales agents present at the conference were engaged in a transformative workshop facilitated by Gideon Ataraire, a seasoned insurance expert and former MD/CEO of Allianz Life Insurance Ghana.
Speaking on the topic “Rising To Your Full Potential As A Sales Person”, Mr. Ataraire shared inspiring stories of his journey as a sales agent to a CEO, presenting specific tips and actionable insights to all participants that are sure to propel them to success when properly implemented.
Some of these included prioritizing continuous and broad learning, personal development and building a strong personal brand.
Mr. Ataraire encouraged participants to embody the company’s core values in their personal branding and customer interactions, reinforcing the strategic role they play in delivering SanlamAllianz’s mission.
