Mabel N.N. Porbley; SAZ General Insurance Ghana CEO honored as one of the Top 50 Ghanaian Female Finance Leaders

Mabel Nana Nyarkoa Porbley; CEO/MD of Sanlam Allianz General Insurance Ghana has been honored as one of the Top 50 Ghanaian Female Finance Leaders for 2024. This publication was released by Aviance Media, a leading PR and rating firm, acknowledging the remarkable achievements of Ghanaian women in leadership roles across the global finance sector. The publication celebrates the resilience, innovation, and expertise of women who are shaping the future of finance.

The honorees were from a cross-section of expertise across banking, insurance, tax, accounting, and investment in trailblazing roles such as Deputy Governor, Chief Director, Executive Director, Vice President, and Partners—each contributing significantly to their industries.

Mabel’s recognition is well-deserved, given her over 20 years of dedicated service in the insurance sector. She is a passionate advocate for financial inclusivity, technological enhancement and sustainable growth. Notably, in 2023, Mabel was nominated by the Commissioner of Insurance to represent the insurance industry on a five-member committee established by Ghana's Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This committee was tasked with engaging stakeholders in the financial services market as part of Ghana’s Domestic Debt Exchange Program (DDEP), a pivotal initiative that had a significant impact on the industry and the broader business community.

Her leadership extends beyond Ghana to the wider West African insurance market, where she served as the Vice Chair of the Ghana National Bureau of the ECOWAS Brown Card until December 2023. Currently, she is a member of the Council of the Ghana Insurance College and also serves on the Council of the West Africa Institute of Insurance in the Gambia.

In 2017, Mabel was named Insurance Personality of the Year at the Women in Banking and Finance Awards.
